Unbroken
Christians are believers who have given their life to Jesus, but refuse to
allow the word of God shape them into Gods standard. How many of you have seen
an earthworm before; it is an elongated, cylindrical in nature, has no
backbone, harmless, it can size any container no matter its shape. So the
desire of God is for us to be like an earth worm Christian; a Christian that
have no backbone, whose backbone is in Christ, who doesn’t struggle with God to
mold him to fulfill his council.
Jacob was
never useful to God until he experienced divine wounding and became a worm. As
it is written in Isaiah 41:14a He said fear not thou worm Jacob. So Jacob was
converted but unbroken, he believed in but denied the power of God working
within him, Even though God intended making him great; but he deceived his
brother Esau to achieve it for himself. Though God have intension of prosperity
for him in the house of Lebanon but he couldn’t wait for it to manifest, he
walked it out himself again. Although he was converted but unbroken in his
heart, in his ways, character, he was still a roll Christian who had not
received a touch from God.
The unbroken
Christians will not allow God to use them for his glory but will prefer to use
God to achieve his own purpose, the unbroken Christian are selfish, stubborn,
not easily corrected, they hurt and cheat others easily, they have desire for
recognition, they love the praise of men than the praise of God. The unbroken
Christian are lukewarm, a little bit worldly and a little it Godly, they want to be faithful to the
world and to God at the same time, they
want to use God to achieve their aims, the attitude they put up that
they are not yet made by God. It also shows that they are not broken for God. “Are
you broken for God or has God made you for himself? “ Christians whose backbone
is in Christ allows God to flow through their attitude, interaction and in the
word. In our text Gen 32:24-28 the Bible
says Jacob being confronted with the fear of Esau went back to God and wrestled
with him, there he fought with an angel and his inch bone was broken. He was
divinely wounded by God and became a worm Christian, a Christian with no
backbone, whose backbone is in Christ. He had an encounter with God and became
unbroken Christian, in that minute his name was changed, everything about his
life and destiny changed, he became a brand new creature, old things passed
away and all things became new. What was against him turned to be for him.
1. OH LORD! I need divine wounding in my
life
2. OH LORD make me a broken Christian
for yourself
