BORN OF THE SPIRIT

TEXT: JOHN3:3, 5-8, EZEKIEL 36:26-27,2CORINTHIANS 5:17

If you know you are born of the Spirit, rise up and shout amen. If you now you are a generation of power shout yea!

Let’s see something in verse 3 of john 3, Jesus said except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. In verse 5 He said except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. In the above verses, we have three phrase.

1.    Born again

2.    Born of water

3.    Born of Spirit

This is what I called the three dimension of salvation. It is a process every believer must undergo if he or she must make heaven.

 To be born again literally means to be born from above. It also speak of the convicting power of the gospel in the heart of sinners, that is when the gospel is preached, the word touch the heart of sinners, which lead them to take a stand to turn to Jesus. That conviction in their heart that take a sinner into a place of no going back to their past life, is what is known as being born again.

To be born of water is a public declaration that you have joined a religion called Christianity. Of Corse you know that every religion has his initiation mark. The bible says Jesus the four runner of Christianity met John the Baptist in the river Jordan, and was baptized in water. So when you are baptized, you have finish the second process to your salvation.

The next one I will be talking about is born of the Spirit, Paul called it the seal of faith In Eph 1:13 or the mar of ownership. So when you are born of the Spirit, Jesus place a mark on you declaring to all power that this one belong to me. Hallelujah

So from the above verses we saw two type of birth,

1.    The natural birth which has to do with body.

2.    The Spiritual birth which has to come with the soul and Spirit.

In John 3:4 Jesus said to Nicodemus you must be born again. He was confused, as a Pharisee he had been born in to the Pharisees law, he has taken an oath to be a Pharisee and he has not break the law. So which other birth are you talking about; how can I enter my mother’s womb and be born again the second time. Jesus said no; you must be born of water and Spirit.

In other words born of water speak of the baptism of John the Baptist, it speak of the natural sign of your salvation. So Jesus interpret the water as flesh or physical birth to Nicodemus. That is which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of Spirit is Spirit. So being born of water is being born of flesh which Nicodemus have already had a physical birth. But what Jesus wanted him to know is that, there is another birth and that which is born of the Spirit. In other word, that which is born of Spirit is Spirit, this is the new birth from above which give us eternal life in Christ Jesus. Born of Spirit is our Spiritual ticket into his kingdom. The Spirit determine our place in the kingdom, the Spirit is what that will change us into the like of Christ. He is our transportation to heaven, which is whyhe said if anyone who is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creature, the flesh has given way to the Spirit. How? It is because He is born of the Spirit, the eternal seed is in him. Hallelujah. Are you born of the Spirit? If not ask him to help you tonight.
