TEXT:
2 TIMOTHY 4:6 – 8
As you
finished strong this week, people who intimidated you, shall come and bow
before you. In your working place, people’s heart will melt because of you,
this week in the mighty name of Jesus. When you read this 2 timothy 4:6 – 7,
this 7 things must reflect in your mind.
1. Fight
2. The race
3. The faith
4. A crown
5. The lord
6. The church
7. The day
I will be
considering these seven (7) things striking word, in this verse, today. The
fight – Paul was telling timothy in these verse that Christianity is not rosy,
is not all about enjoyment and happiness but it is a fight. Paul said to
timothy; I have been fighting, I have fought with the beast of Ephesus, I have
fought with principalities and powers, I have finished strong in other word, I
won the battle.
To finish
strong is telling us that we have been in a fight. When you finish strong, it
means you have win the war. It means you have win the battle. In Timothy 1:18,
Paul saidto timothy based on the word you have received. If you too want to
finish strong the way I finish, you must wage war, you must fight the battle
and win for in Christianity we fight to win knowing that we wrestle not against
flesh and blood but against principalities and power.
The pace –
He said I have finished the race, this means the church is running on race. In
a race there are rules and only the winner that win the price, so we must run
according to the rule in Heb 12:1 He said wherefore seeing we also are
compassed about with so great crowd of witness, let us lay aside every weight
and sin which doth so easily beset us, so for us to finish the race and finish
strong, it means you have win your race. I have kept the faith; - when we are
fighting and running the race. We must also keep the faith, keeping the faith
is all about what we believe. There is faith to be kept, there is integrity to
be kept, and there is holiness to be kept. Oh I have fought a good fight, I
have finish my course, I have finish my assignment, here on earth. Henceforth there
is laid up for me.
A crown: when
a man finish strong, it means the man has win the fight, it means the man has
won the race, it means the man has kept the faith. Oh! When this is done we
will win the crown, we will be crowned by the righteous judge who knows our
faith, He is the Lord. Can God testify that you have finished strong, can he
say that you have kept the faith. This Lord, the bible calls Him the righteous
judge, the Lord we are serving is the judge of the whole world, the one that
judges between husband and wife, the one who judges between father and
children. I don’t care how men may look at me and what they say about me, am
only conscious of the one who judges from the inside; the righteous judge. If
someone destroys your name, leave it for the righteous judge, if someone hates
you, leave it for the righteous judge, if someone owls you, leave it for the
righteous judge.
