BAPTISM OF FIRE

TEXT: MATHEW 3:1-12, 1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-11, MARK 16: 17-18

If you know that, you are here, for liberation and empowerment, raise up and give God the loudest Amen. Somebody shout fire. When God passes you through fire, you will come out a better vessel, to serve the water of life, to your generation. Tonight, you will be endue with power, power for signs and wonders, power to cast out the devil, power to humiliate every witchcraft that torment your life in the name of Jesus.

In Mathew 3:11, He said I indeed baptized you with water unto repentance, but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear, He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire. The baptism with fire, was that baptism that caused the early Christian church to grow in the Bible days. Baptism with fire was symbolic of being filled with the Holy Ghost to witness effectively, so when we talk about Baptism with fire, what does it mean? We know what it means to be baptize in water, we have seen that, but what does it mean to be baptize with fire.
To know the Answer you need to ask two questions:
1.     What is fire set to do in the Bible
2.     What happened to the Apostle at Pentecost, when they were; baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire
Can I explain all that? The first thing the Bible says that fire does is that fire reveals. In 1 Corinthians 3:13 the Bible says every man work shall be made manifest for the fire shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire. So the first thing that the baptism with fire does is to reveal what a man really is, who you are, he will show us to ourselves as God sees us. That is to reveal our secret work and our service to God, the second thing that the fire does is the fire refine or purifies, that is the fire makes the impure to be pure, the fire refines the ugly to be beautiful. Baptism of fire I called it the spirit of burning because those who stand in the presence of God’s throne in glory they flame and burn. In Isiah 6:1, Isiah said, I saw the lord high and lifted up and above, he saw those glorious creatures crying Holy, Holy, Holy, and Isaiah not knowing what they were, he invented a name and called them the burning one or Seraphim the burning one. So if you stand in the presence of God for worship, for prayer you burn or you flame.
The burning bush in exodus 3:1-2 on the back side of the desert did not flame more furiously than God’s fire that was burning in Moses bones against Egypt.
And the fire that came down from heaven on Mount Carmel and burned up the alter, the sacrifice, the wood and water in 1king’s18:38 did not burn more than the furiously fire of God that was burning in the soul of Elijah the Tish bite. The fire that flame at Pentecost in those clove tongues, above the disciple’s head in Act’s2:3did not burn more than the testimony of the saving grace of the Son God in their life.
And that flaming Syrian sun that struck Paul to the ground in Act’s9:3-4 did not burn half as bright as the spirit of the in the soul of Paul.
That fire shall burn inside of you.
He shall burn in your Soul,Body and Spirit in the name Jesus.
When the fire heat Philip the bible says He went to a city called saimarah and preach the gospel there was a great joy in the city, men drop their magic book for Christ.
That shall happen to you when you have the fire.
God is looking for men and women who can burn for him in this generation.
Men like Benson Idahosa.
Women like Katrina Kumar.
Men like Benny Hinn.
PRAYER POINT
·        Oh lord set me on fire,
·        Let me burnt for you in my generation.
