TOPIC: LIVING A GODLY LIFE STYLE IN AN UNGODLY WORLD (PART 1)

                                    

                TEXT: TITUS 2:11-15 ISAIAH 52:11
What does it mean to be Godly? It means to have love for the things of God, and to walk in the ways of God. But Godly lifestyle speaks of God kind of life, the type of life God live and also expects us to live. Is a life guided by the Holy Spirit, Inspired through the word of God. So a Godly man or woman lives a life guided by the Holy Spirit.

He or she lives his life by the instruction from the word of God. This person has passion for God. And seeks an intimate relationship with Him.
The Godly man or woman is always growing wiser in the knowledge of God and not in the knowledge of the world. The Godly person only makes decision based on biblical principle, rather than personal preference.

Because he knows that the power of God’s word guides our step and gives us practical wisdom for every decision that we may face each day. So living a Godly life in an ungodly world is realizing that you do not belong to yourself. You do not belong to this world, so your life partner must change and be of the kingdom you belong. You belong to Jesus Christ; He is your loving savior and your eternal Lord. That is why He says in 1^st Corinthians 6:19, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you. Which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. So as a godly person, you belong to God, your life was change at salvation and Christ kind of life was infuse in you which make your body Godly. so you are not permitted to live a life short of a Godly kind of life in an ungodly world. Because your body is God’s temple, that is why the bible says in Matthew 5:16  let your light so shine before men, in other word, let your behavior be seen by men as Godly, let your character, your action, words, even your secret life be seen by men as godly way of life.

So let your life style shine in the dark world with the light of the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ that all may see and give glory to our God. Let your light so shine, among men, in other world, let your character reflects Christ in your compound, school etc.

So that people can see God kind of life in you, and try to live. So shine out the godly life in your family, business place. Shine out the godly life everywhere you go and your future will be guaranteed in his kingdom. Haleluyah.

In Matthew 5:13^A He said, ye are the salt of the earth. In other word, you are expected to make every tasteless life on earth to have taste. Do you know that a life of sin is a tasteless life? But a life of Godliness is full of peace, righteousness, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Somebody may ask me, pastor what must I do in other to live a Godly life.

1.     You must be born again – John 3:3, Eph 4:22-24: you cannot enjoy the Godly life style and its blessing until you know the kin of the Godly people. So Godly kind of life is the heritage of the believer.

You cannot live a Godly life style except you are born again. Born again, by accepting the lordship of our lord Jesus Christ into your life, and repent from all your sins. By putting of the former old life of sin, and putting on the new life of Holiness in Christ Jesus. So you must be born again because that I the only access to a Godly life style.

2.     You must have control over your thought proverbs 23:7^a, Gen 11:6: you cannot be thinking evil in your heart and live a Godly life, so for you to live a Godly life, you must control your thought. You must think the right things, do the right thing, and walk in the right way.

He said as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. As a man imagine, nothing will restrained them from doing that which they have imagine to do. So control your thought and imagine good things, not evil. Imagine a great future for yourself, don’t imagine evil. Don’t imagine joining a cult in school; don’t imagine drinking alcohol or smoking. Common get control over your thought.

Because your thought determine your purpose, and your purpose determine your action. Your action determines your habits and your habit decide your character; your character fixed your destiny here on earth.

WHAT DO I STAND TO GAIN BY LIVING A GODLY LIFESTYLE

   1.     Godly lifestyle guarantee a secured future: 1^st peter 3:13 : He said who is he that will harm you, if ye be follower of that which is good, nothing can defer your future, if you are a follower of Christ Jesus. No power from the pit of hell can harm you. No witches or wizard has the power to alter your future.

Do you know why? Because you are the follower of that which is good. You are a Godly person; your life reflects God kind of life. So you are more than

Conquerors, your future is guaranteed in Christ.

§  Oh lord, give me the grace to live a godly life.
