Every man is born with
a divine honor, when Jesus was born the wise man said, we saw the star and have
come to honor him. In genesis 25:30-34 we saw Esau selling his honor to Jacob,
he said what profit shall this birthright do to me and Jacob trickily stole it
away from him. Divine honor is that divine enablement, is that unique virtue
God has put in you that will attract greatness to you in the process of your
life on earth, it is that virtue that attract important men to you even helpers
to you, Every man has it. But you see sometimes this divine influence can be
stolen either by evil men, witches or your friends. People you feel that love
you can take your honor from you.
In judges 14:5 the bible said a young lion attacked Samson
in the vain yard of Timnath. Samson killed it with his bare hand. How? By the grace of divine honor that
is within him. This act attracts both enemies and friends to him.
I said divine honor is that divine virtue or enablement God
has put in you, to pt you into greatness so the killing introduced Samson into
the world of great men, he had become the hero of the people of Israel. But
when Delilah heard and saw how Samson killed the lion with his bare hand she
decided to steal or destroy that divine honor in him. So she uses all kinds of
trick to steal it but Samson kept on hiding it from him. But in Judges 16:17
the bible says after much persuasion Samson revealed his secret to Delilah and
said “there had not come a razor upon m head, for I have been a Nazarite unto
God from my mother’s womb. If I be shaven then my strength will go from me and
I shall become weak like any other man. This implies that Samson was a member
of the Nazarite, in the order of ancient Israel, he took the Nazarite vow which
required him to abstain from wine, cutting his long hair and avoiding corpses
of dead things and tomb. In exchange for keeping the vow, each Nazarite receive
a power from God that was while Samson was so powerful in his days. But you see
Samson started breaking the vow in Judges 14:8-9; he was forbidden not to see
any dead thing nor touch it but Samson did not only touch the carcass of the
dead lion he also took some honey from the dead lions body and begins to eat
it. And this was the first place Samson breaks his Nazarite vow, yet nothing
happened. God was giving him an opportunity to repent and return back to his
vow, yet Samson pretended not to that he is stepping out of his honor gradually.
But the bible says in verse 19 of Judges 16, and she made
him sleep upon her knees and called for a man and she caused him to shave off
his seven locks of hair and she began to afflict him, and the strength went
from him. The seven locks of Samson hair represent the spirit of God that
strengthen him; for he said I can do all things through Christ that strengthen
me. So Samson by allowing Delilah to cut his hair breaks a sacred vow, and no
one breaks a sacred vow and return to his honor. Esau breaks his sacred vow b
giving out his birth right to Jacob and went into suffering. You see Samson
long hair was a symbol of the great physical strength he has, but when he was
shaved he lost it, his long hair represent the seven spirit of God that was
protecting Israel from the hand of the philistine but when he was shaved they
lost it. His long hair was the beauty and honor God placed upon his life, but
when he shaved it he lost it. Who stole your honor? Samson was broken and
humiliated by the philistine, he paid for breaking the scared vow with his two
eyes, in other words, he was blind, the philistines destroyed his two eyes and subjected him into grinding for the whole
nation he suffered all day and all night.
So many of us have lost our divine honor, because we have
broken the sacred vow for our lives. We have lost it to immorality, anger,
hatred, jealousy etc. evil power have taken our honor from us, because we have
sinned against God. Our lives would have been better than this, but we have
sold out our honor and lost our values. Oh lord, restore my honor, take me back
to my right position in life. I decree every hijacker of your honor be
destroyed in the name of Jesus.
