Text:
Luke 17:12—19,
‘’George Herbert said, thou has given so much
to me, but I need one thing more, and that is a grateful heart’’
“William
Arthur once said feeling grateful and not expressing it, is like, wrapping a
present and not giving it out”.
In
our text the bible says the ten men had a common problem,
·
That is, they had an incurable disease( leprosy)
·
They were regarded as unclean and
untouchable
·
That is why, in those days leprosy was
considered highly contagious
So
they were not permitted to associate with other people, that is why the leprous
men suffer limitation and stagnation, but somehow the ten lepers met with Jesus;
and cry out for his mercy for Jesus to clean them.
According
to our text we can see two categories of people, these are the grateful and the
ungrateful.
Lets
consider the grateful, they are people who always show appreciation to God. 1thess
5:18 says; in every things give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ
Jesus concerning us.
But
when we talk about the ungrateful, we mean the unthankful people or the
ingrates. These set of people are the complainers, the grumbler and the murmur.
Hear me, a complaining tongue reveals an ungrateful heart and God is not pleased
with an ungrateful heart or ungrateful people.
The
ten lepers cried out for help, and Jesus healed them, but when they had
received their miracles only one of them came back and cried with a loud voice in
order to offer thanks. The other nine were silent.
Many
people cry out when they desire something from God, but after getting their
miracle they kept quiet. They neither show appreciation nor testify. But when
you appreciate, God is committed in doing more miracles to you. Because being
grateful open doors for other blessings
God bless you.
