THE MANTLE OF FIRE

Text: 2 kings 2:12 – 15

When we talk about the mantle of fire, we mean the outward manifestation of God’s power in all situations. Mantle of fire speaks of God’s presence in the life of a believer or in the hand of a believer. Mantle can be in your life as in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and can be in your hand as the rod of Moses. The mantle of Elijah, the apron and handkerchief of Paul. In the Old

Testament, the prophets were known for wearing mantle or carrying mantle as a sign of their calling from God. So the prophet’s mantle was an indication of his authority and responsibility as God’s spokesman. But in the New Testament the mantle is seen as a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

As in 2 kings 2 :14 the way Elisha took the mantle that fell from Elijah. That was the same way, Jesus received the Holy spirit as a mantle, it descend on him at his baptism as a dove, and the audible voice of God in Matthew 3:15 confirm Jesus as God’s chosen servant, just as in the old testament. So God is the giver of the mantle of fire. When He called Moses, He gave him a rod and said to him, thou shall take this rod in thy hand wherewith thou shall do signs.

The rod was God’s mantle in the hand of Moses. It was with that mantle, that he did great signs and wonders in the land of Egypt. So god’s mantle in the hand of Moses was so powerful than every evil power in the land of Egypt. I decree that mantle in your in the perfect name of Jesus. When God called Elijah, He gave him a mantle of fire that was why Elijah could bring down fire in two occasions during his ministry and the fire came and when Elijah was called, he took the mantle of Elijah and stood by the river and smote it and the river pated and passes through it on the dry ground.

Am talking about the mantle of fire, that mantle in your hand will heal the sick in the name of Jesus.

And when Jesus came, the mantle fell on him, in the form of a dove and rested on him, with a voice of confirmation” This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased”. And when Jesus chose his disciple the mantle fell on them like tongues of fire.

And when the Apostle began to use the mantle, the bible said Aprons and Handkerchief of their body began to do signs and wonders. Shadows of their body began to heal the sick and cast out the devil.

Whatever represents a mantle in your hand today….

i.                   Shall cast out devils in your life

ii.                Shall rise the dead

iii.             Shall restore lost glory in your life

iv.             Shall revive every dead business

v.                Shall bring alive every dead destiny

vi.             Stop evil attacks on your life

vii.          Shall attend to all round situation that confront you

PRAYER

O Lord, let your mantle fall on me

O Lord, touch the mantle in my hand with your fire

O thou mantle in my hand, respond to my command

Let your mantle fall on me
