Text: Deut 3325, Philip 1:6, 2 Chronicle 24:1-23
God is called the author and finisher of our faith. He is
not only giving us grace to start but He also give you the grace to finish. It
is not how you start, but it is how you finish. Because finishing well is just
as important as starting well, so it takes a lot of effort to start things but
finishing it is what could be difficult.
Any young lady can have a baby but it takes a mother to
really raise that child. Any two people can get married but it takes commitment
to stick together for it to work. Anyone can have a dream but it takes
determination, perseverance, a made up mind to see it come to pass. The
question now is not how will you start, but how will you finish it. Too many
people start off very good this year, they had big dreams for the year and excited
future for their year but along the way they have some setback which takes
longer than they thought so they get discourage and give up.
This morning I have come to remind you that our God is
called the author and finisher of our faith, He is not only giving you the
grace to start; but He is giving us the grace to finish. The race is not for
the swift or strong but to those who endure to the end. No matter what you have
left undone in 2017, the finisher of our faith will complete if for you in the
name of Jesus.
Tell someone close to you “I am moving to my finishing line,
how about you” I pray for you, the God who gave you grace to start will also
give you the grace to finish well in the name of Jesus.
Why? It is because the God who started the great work in you
will bring it to a flourishing finish on Christ appearance.
PRAYER
1.
Oh! Lord, I receive fresh grace to finish strong
or well.
2.
Every power programmed to prevent me from
finishing well be destroyed by fire
Every death programmed to trap my life this year
be buried in your own grave.
