HOW TO AVOID A QUARREL

Text:  Provo 15:18, Eccl. 7:9, Matt 5:22, Col. 3:7-9, Provo 13:10, Provo 29:22, Prov.17:19, Prov.16:20-21, 23-24, 26-29, Provo 3:30, Provo 21:23 Provo 17:19 says "He who love a quarrel loves sin. He who builds a high table invites destruction.
Introduction:
Some people love to argue and fight. People who have been close friends for years become enemies to each other overnight. Christians who previously served Christ side by side, now barely speak to one another because wound have been inflicted in the mind that have refuse to be healed for years.

I want us to know through this study that Christian should be peacemakers; we should make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace. Eph. 4:3, Romans 12:18.
Ways to Avoid a Quarrel
    i.        By restraining your anger: The easiest way to keep the peace is to avoid controversy and contentious situation. Provo 16:32-33. Better be a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes the city, for patient is a flower that does not grow in every man's farm.
  ii.        Be thick skin: He who covers an offense promotes love (Prov. 17:9). Overlook the offense. Imitate Jesus, who when insulted and abuse did not retaliate.

iii.        Don't repeat derogatory commends - Provo 17:9b he that repeats the matter separates close friends.
Fault-finders - Provo 17:27-28, if you hear a believer say something too critical about another; don't report it. (E no take am send you message)
iv. Walk away from potential conflicts: Provo 20:3, Provo 17:14 starting a quarrel is like setting a wildfire that can't be quenched easily, so drop the matter before a dispute breakout. Provo 17:14
It is a man's honor to avoid strife but very fool is quick to quarrel Provo 20:3.
v. Keep your controversial opinion to yourself - Provo 18:2 A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions (Prov.18:2)
If you know your views will stir up an argument and the issues involved are not matter of salvation, why not keep your opinion to yourself?
vi. Maintain a joyful spirit all the time - Provo 17:22
vii. Be quick to listen (hear) and slow to speak - Provo 18:13, James 2:19-20
viii. Respect The Awesome Power Of The Word - Prov 18:20-21
IX. Don't be a talebearer - prov18:8, Provo 20:19, Provo 16;28 X. Stop frequent visit - Prov 25;17, Provo 29:5
xi. Why you are beaten - Provo 18:6-8
xii. Remember God's judgment - Provo 19:5-6
Xlll. Give soft answers to every quarrel- Provo 15:1
